About the Artist
Susan was born in Kingston, Ontario and raised in the provinces of Quebec and New Brunswick, Canada.

She graduated in sculpture and bronze casting from the Ontario College of Art (now OCAD-U - Ontario College of Art & Design University). An Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation Scholarship financed her final year of studies in the mountains of Tuscany.
Susan supported herself in graphic design after completing art school. She taught, painted, exhibited, received a Canada Council Grant and became involved in the artist-run centre movement in New Brunswick. She spoke about the value of art to society - its power to cultivate critical thinking and identity, and its generative force. She also completed an honours degree in Political Science with a focus on cultural policy.
Susan was awarded the Ontario Graduate Scholarship while undertaking her MBA in Arts and Media Administration at York University. She currently lives in Toronto.
